RRB NTPC Graduate 2025: Official Typing Test Guidelines

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a detailed notification regarding the Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for the RRB NTPC Graduate 2025 recruitment (CEN No. 06/2025). Candidates appearing for the skill test must strictly adhere to these guidelines to ensure their performance is evaluated correctly.

Exam Structure and Duration

The CBTST session is divided into three distinct parts:

• Typing Practice: A one-minute session to warm up and familiarize the candidate with the keyboard.
• Break: A mandatory 5-minute break following the practice session.
• Typing Test: A 10-minute session that is officially taken for evaluation purposes.

Key Typing Requirements

Candidates must meet the following minimum word count requirements within the stipulated time frame:

• English Typing: At least 300 words.
• Hindi Typing: At least 250 words.

Note: If a candidate finishes the passage before 10 minutes, they are encouraged to re-type the passage from the beginning. Transcripts failing to meet the minimum word count will not be evaluated.

Evaluation Formula and Mistakes

The RRB follows a strict formula for calculating errors. Mistakes are classified into 'Full Mistakes' and 'Half Mistakes'. A 5% margin for mistakes is allowed based on the total words typed.

The final typing speed will be calculated as: (Total words typed - (Final count of mistakes x 10)) / Time. The minimum required speed is 30 words per minute (w.p.m) for English and 25 w.p.m for Hindi.

• Use of editing tools for correcting mistakes is strictly prohibited.
• Candidates are advised to rely only on the official RRB websites for updates.
• Be cautious of touts and fake promises regarding job appointments.
