Candidates shortlisted for the skill test must carefully follow the detailed guidelines and evaluation process outlined by the board.
Key Highlights of RRB NTPC Typing Test
- Language Option: Candidates will type in English (minimum 300 words) or Hindi (minimum 250 words) based on the option exercised on the official RRB portal.
- Minimum Speed Requirement: 30 words per minute (w.p.m.) for English and 25 w.p.m. for Hindi.
- Editing Tools: Use of editing tools for correcting typed matter is strictly not permitted.

Evaluation & Mistakes Formula
Mistakes will be classified into Full Mistakes and Half Mistakes. A penalty exemption of 5% of total words typed is allowed.
Formula for Total Mistakes:Total Mistakes = No. of full mistakes + (No. of half mistakes / 2)
Formula for Final Count of Mistakes:Final Count of Mistakes = Total Mistakes - (5% of total words typed)
Formula for Typing Speed Calculation:Typing Speed (w.p.m) = [Total Words Typed - (Final Count of Mistakes × 10)] / 10
Important Note for Candidates
Candidates who complete the passage early can retype the passage from the beginning within the 10-minute duration. Transcripts of candidates who fail to type 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi within the time limit will not be evaluated.
