RRB NTPC Graduate 2025 Typing Test Instructions
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the important instructions and guidelines for the Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) under CEN No. 06/2025 for various posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (Graduate). Candidates who have been shortlisted for the CBTST must carefully review the exam pattern, typing speed requirements, and evaluation formulas.
Key Details of RRB NTPC CBTST 2025
- Language Option: Candidates will have to type in English or Hindi as per the option exercised by them on the official RRB website.
- Word Count Requirement: Candidates are required to type at least 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi within the prescribed time.
- Exam Structure: The exam session consists of three parts: (i) Typing Practice for one minute to warm up and familiarize with the keyboard, (ii) Break of five minutes, and (iii) Typing Test for 10 minutes which will be taken for evaluation.
- Retyping Allowed: As the skill test determines speed, candidates who complete the passage before the time can retype the passage from the beginning within the 10-minute duration. Transcripts of candidates who fail to type the minimum word count will not be evaluated.
Evaluation and Typing Speed Formula
The evaluation of the typed passage and calculation of typing speed will be conducted based on the following official formulas:
Mistake Calculation Formula
Total Mistakes = No. of full mistakes + (No. of half mistakes / 2)
5% mistakes of the total words typed may be ignored.
Final Count of Mistakes = Number of mistakes - 5% of total number of words typed
Typing Speed Formula
Typing Speed = [No. of total words typed - (Final count of mistake x 10)] / Time (in minutes)
- Minimum Speed Required: 30 words per minute (w.p.m) in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
- Note: Use of editing tools for correcting mistakes is strictly not permitted.
