| Language | Minimum Speed | Minimum Words Required |
|---|---|---|
| English | 30 WPM (Words Per Minute) | 300 Words |
| Hindi | 25 WPM (Words Per Minute) | 250 Words |
Mistake Classification & Evaluation Formula
Mistakes committed during the typing test are categorized into Full Mistakes and Half Mistakes. RRB allows a relaxed margin of 5% mistakes of the total words typed.
1. Total Mistakes Calculation
Total Mistakes = No. of Full Mistakes + (No. of Half Mistakes / 2)
2. Final Count of Mistakes
Final Count of Mistakes = Total Mistakes - (5% of total words typed)
3. Typing Speed Formula
Typing Speed = [Total Words Typed - (Final Count of Mistakes × 10)] / 10
Example: If a candidate types 400 words in 10 minutes with 10 final mistakes, the speed calculation will be: [400 - (10 × 10)] / 10 = 300 / 10 = 30 WPM.
Important Rules & Regulations
