SSC CGL 2026 Tier-I: Important Updates on Exam City & Admission Certificate

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a significant notification regarding the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL), 2026 (Tier-I). The update, dated 21.09.2026, covers critical information that every candidate must know before appearing for the exam.

Exam Schedule Announced

The SSC CGL 2026 Tier-I examination is scheduled to be held from 30th September 2026 to 30th October 2026, spanning over a month-long phase. Candidates are advised to prepare accordingly.

Exam City Details Now Available

Candidates can now view their examination city details by logging into the designated login module on the official SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in. This was announced per Notice No. HQ-IT018/4/2024-IT (Comp. No.:10517).

Admission Certificate Release

The 'Admission Certificate' (Admit Card) for the examinations will be made available for download 2–3 days prior to each respective exam date. Candidates can access it through the same login module on the commission's website. Detailed instructions were published in the notice dated 21.05.2026.

Own Scribe Facility – Important Update

• Candidates who opted for the 'Own Scribe' facility may need to complete fresh scribe registration on the SSC website, as previous registrations were disposed of on 05.11.2025.
• Scribe registration has been integrated with Aadhaar Authentication, making it mandatory for all scribes willing to appear to complete fresh registration.
• The maximum permissible age limit for scribes is as per Policy No. PP001/14/2024-PP (e-10280) dated 04.11.2025.
• Candidates who have opted for 'own scribe' must map their Scribe OTR by 24.09.2026 (11:00 PM). Scribe Entry Pass will be generated only for those who successfully map their Scribe OTR.
