SSC Important Notice 2024: Guidelines for Computer Usage During Exams
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a crucial advisory for candidates regarding computer handling and technical issues during online examinations.

SSC Important Notice: Exam Day Computer Guidelines
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an important notice for all candidates appearing in upcoming computer-based examinations (CBE). To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, the commission has outlined strict guidelines regarding the handling of computer systems at the exam centers.
Key Instructions for Candidates
Candidates must strictly adhere to the following instructions during their examination:
- No Unauthorized Actions: Candidates are strictly prohibited from making any changes to the computer system settings.
- Do Not Restart or Shutdown: Under no circumstances should a candidate attempt to restart or shut down the allotted computer without explicit permission from the exam authorities.
- Handling Technical Issues: If a candidate faces any technical glitch, system freeze, or hardware issue (such as mouse or keyboard malfunction), they must not attempt to fix it themselves.
- Immediate Reporting: In case of any technical problem, candidates must immediately raise their hand and inform the Invigilator or IT support staff present in the exam lab.
Why is this Important?
Attempting to tamper with the computer system can lead to the cancellation of the exam for the candidate and may result in strict disciplinary action. The SSC's online examination system is highly secure, and any unauthorized restart or shutdown is recorded by the server, which could be flagged as suspicious behavior.
Candidates are advised to stay calm if a technical issue arises. The exam timer is usually paused by the server during genuine technical faults, and candidates will not lose their allotted time. Always rely on the invigilator for assistance to ensure your exam is submitted successfully.
