The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an official addendum to the Notice of Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 regarding the Essential Educational Qualifications for the post of Scientific Assistant in the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Key Updates
According to File No HQ-C-3019/1/2026-C-3, candidates are required to refer to Para 2(13) of the Notice dated 02.09.2026 for the updated qualification requirements.

Important Note
Note 1: Candidates possessing the qualifications mentioned above must also have passed Class XII examination from a recognised Board with Physics and Mathematics as one of the subjects.
Other Provisions
All other provisions of the Notice of the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 shall remain unchanged. This addendum serves as a clarification and amendment to the existing notification issued on 02.09.2026.
