The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released the tentative schedule for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2026, which serves as the screening test for various Group C and D posts under the commission. The written examination is expected to be conducted on three separate dates across October and November 2026.
PET 2026 Exam Dates & Shifts
According to the official notification, the written test will be held on the following dates:
- 25 October 2026 (Sunday) – Two shifts
- 30 October 2026 (Thursday) – Two shifts
- 01 November 2026 (Sunday) – Two shifts
Each day will feature two separate shifts (पालियाँ) to accommodate the massive candidate pool. The decision was taken by the UPPSC authorities considering the Legislative Council elections and other important festivals and occasions in the state.
Total Number of Candidates Registered
The number of applicants who have registered for the PET-2026 exam stands at a staggering 35,41,296 (35.41 lakhs). This marks one of the largest recruitments in the history of UPPSC, requiring extensive logistical arrangements across multiple centers in Uttar Pradesh.
